Violin and viola lessons at Wallingford Musical Arts combine strong technical training with individualized instruction tailored to each student’s experience, goals, and musical development. Students work with Serban Petrescu, an experienced performer and educator with extensive professional and university teaching experience.

Violin and viola lessons are available for children and adults, from beginning students through advanced musicians. Instruction is adapted to each student’s level while developing technique, musicianship, and confidence as a performer.

Approach to instruction

Lessons emphasize strong fundamentals, musical understanding, and the development of effective practice habits. Serban draws on his experience as a professional violinist, concertmaster, chamber musician, and university instructor to help students develop both technical skill and expressive musicianship.

Lesson options

Private violin and viola lessons are available in 30-, 45-, and 60-minute sessions. Students may also participate in group music theory and composition lessons. In-person and virtual instruction are available.
